Valor Run
Valor Run, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 2014 with the primary goal of honoring the brave U.S. military women who have selflessly served our country since the tragic events of 9/11. Our mission is deeply rooted in the belief that these courageous individuals deserve to be recognized and celebrated for their unwavering dedication and sacrifice. Through various running events, we aim to bring together communities from all walks of life to pay tribute to these remarkable women who have supported combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. We strive to create a platform where their stories can be shared, their memories cherished, and their legacy preserved for generations to come.
177 Mile Tribute Run
Valor Run, Inc. is dedicated to honoring the brave women who gave their lives in service of their country during combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The organization works closely with experienced runners who are interested in undertaking a challenging 177-mile tribute run to commemorate these fallen heroes. The location, time, and duration of the event are left entirely up to the individual runner, allowing for a personalized and meaningful experience.
To participate in this emotionally and physically demanding endeavor, runners must possess significant marathon or ultra-running experience and commit to at least six months of rigorous planning and training. If you have a like-minded friend who shares your passion for running, you have the option to complete this monumental journey together - but each runner must cover the full 177 miles on their own. This unique opportunity not only pushes participants beyond their limits both mentally and physically but also serves as a powerful act of remembrance for those courageous women who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our nation's freedom.
Scholarship
The proceeds above operating costs from this annual event are dedicated to funding a scholarship that will be awarded each year, starting in the 2016/17 school year. This scholarship provides financial assistance to deserving students - children of women who bravely served their country during critical military campaigns such as OIF, OEF, OFS, OIR, OCO, and OND. The Valor Run scholarship program recognizes and honors the sacrifices of these women while investing in the future success of their families. This initiative serves as a meaningful way to give back to those who have selflessly dedicated themselves to protecting our nation's freedoms and values.
